Multi-discipline clinic software
Us vs. ClinicSense
Practice management for massage therapists and multi-discipline clinics
ClinicSense: 14-day free trial, no credit card required
ClinicSense targets massage therapists and small multi-discipline clinics. Its standout features are customizable SOAP note templates with display logic, referral automation, and a client availability digest — things MassageBook doesn't do. Where it falls short is scalability: per-practitioner fees add up fast for growing clinics, and the platform lacks many of the massage-specific scheduling features that MassageBook pioneered.

How we're different
SOAP note customization
ClinicSense
ClinicSense has the deepest SOAP note customization of any platform in this space. Premium subscribers can build templates with conditional display logic — a question only appears if a prior answer triggers it. Short codes let therapists type a quick abbreviation that expands to a full phrase. These are genuinely useful features for practitioners who take clinical documentation seriously.
Our approach
Customizable SOAP templates and conditional display logic are planned from the start. The difference in our approach is that template customization is paired with the ABAC access layer — not only can you customize what's in a note, you can specify exactly who has the right to read or amend each section of it.
Referral and marketing automation
ClinicSense
ClinicSense's referral request automation is a genuine differentiator: the system automatically sends a referral request to happy clients after appointments. The availability digest is another clever feature — a periodic email showing clients open appointment slots, which reduces no-shows and fills last-minute cancellations.
Our approach
Both referral automation and availability digests are planned. We see these as table-stakes for any serious practice management platform. The question is whether automation surfaces are designed around the therapist's actual workflow or bolted on as separate campaign tools.
Practitioner pricing model
ClinicSense
ClinicSense charges $20/month per additional practitioner on top of the base plan. A clinic with 4 therapists pays $99 + 3×$20 = $159/month on Premium. As headcount grows, costs scale linearly and quickly.
Our approach
Pricing model not yet announced. Per-seat fees are a known pain point for growing practices. The right answer for multi-therapist clinics is pricing that scales with the value delivered, not simply with headcount.
Access control
ClinicSense
Standard RBAC (Role-Based Access Control): practitioners have roles with fixed capability sets. There is no mechanism to grant a therapist read access to one client's chart but not another's, or to restrict which fields of a SOAP note are visible to front-desk staff vs. licensed practitioners.
Our approach
ABAC from the data model up. Access decisions are evaluated at runtime against policy: which user, which record, which field, which action, what context. Front-desk staff can see appointment availability without seeing clinical notes. Practitioners see their own clients' charts without seeing their colleagues'. This is the least-privilege architecture sensitive client records deserve.
Massage-specific scheduling
ClinicSense
ClinicSense covers standard scheduling well: online booking, waitlists, no-show guard (credit card hold), and multi-location support. It does not support outcall/mobile scheduling, couples massage, timed add-ons, or the gap-minimization features that help solo massage therapists maximize their day.
Our approach
Full scheduling planned with massage-specific features at the core: outcall support with travel time, couples booking, timed add-ons, and intelligent gap filling. These are not premium add-ons — they're part of the baseline scheduling design.
